Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) is investigating a potential cyberattack, which reportedly “completely compromised” its internal systems but didn’t affect its operations.
This is bigger than you think
Nvidia designs & manufactures graphics processing units (GPUs), & is the biggest publicly traded chipmaker in the U.S.
And we mean BIG. Over $600-billion-in-market-cap big.
But that’s not why the attack is big
Before invading Ukraine, Russia cyber attacked Ukraine’s infrastructure, disabling websites & deleting data from its government systems.
President Biden stated last Thursday that “if Russia pursues cyberattacks against our companies, we’re prepared to respond.”
A cyberattack on the country’s largest public chipmaker just a few days later? Well that’s set to get some *very important* eyes rolling.
