Elon Musk has authorized the activation of SpaceX’s internet service “Starlink” in Ukraine, after the country suffered internet disruptions following the invasion by Russian troops.
The news took place on Twitter
A tweet by a Ukrainian government official urged Musk “to provide Ukraine with Starlink stations and to address sane Russians to stand.”
To which Musk replied some 10 hours later
“Starlink service is now active in Ukraine. More terminals en route.”
SpaceX is a private company looking to revolutionize space travel, & Musk has no plans of taking it public.
Starlink is owned by SpaceX, & while reports have previously suggested a potential spin off from SpaceX, Musk denied the possibility of one.
SpaceX recently announced a 10-for-1 stock split, reportedly bringing down the value of a single share from $560 to $56. The split doesn’t affect the company’s valuation in any way.
